Mansfield (and Massachusetts) Republicans Represented at RNC

Mansfield State Senate representative Jay Barrows says the Republican National Convention is well under way and on the right track, despite some meteorological problems.

"[Tuesday] night was the best night that have ever witnessed," Barrows said. "She really related to the women of our delegation and, I'm sure the women across America. It was really inspirational and a really great chance to meet her."

On Tuesday night,  Ann Romney discussed her experiences marrying her husband a young age, of them as a young couple who rented a basement apartment and living on meals of tuna fish and pasta, and then started a family that helped to raise five sons and 18 grandchildren.

Wednesday night saw speeches from Chris Christie, governor of the state of New Jersey.

"Mitt Romney's going to have to win this campaign," Christie said on Good Morning America. "He's going to have to let the American people see who he is."

Barrows said that the best is yet to come.

 "I think the bar's set pretty high for him," Barrows said. "I wouldn't want to give a speech after his wife's last night. I think he'll do very very well."

Barrows said that the Massachusetts delegation has not been ignored during the convention, actually far from it.

"We're in the front row," he said. "It's a great honor and a great privilege to be a part of that."
