The Mansfield Board of Selectmen voted 4-0 with Kevin Moran absent to appoint Yogen Chemburka to the Finance Committee.
They also voted 4-0 to appoint Cheryl Collins to a full-time position on the Planning Board and voted 3-0 (with Jess Aptowitz abstaining) to appoint Michael Feck to the Planning Board’s alternate vacant position.
Town Manager William Ross said that the process for choosing a new chief of police is moving along. Currently, the town has to make an appointment with the Massachusetts Civil Service to use their assessment facilities before moving on.
Chair Olivier Kozlowski said that the selectmen and Mansfield School Committee are planning on a joint meeting for sometime in the fall.
Ross said that on Oct. 3 at p.m. there will be a dedication ceremony to the newly-constructed Gazebo on the North Common.
Selectman George Dentino said a statement in respect of recently deceased Philip Sibilia.
Ross said that he is meeting with many of the lessees of the Cabot Business Park to form a business improvement district to help keep a cohesive element to the park.
Selectmen voted 4-0 to transfer three parcels, one on Essex Street and two on Smith Road, to the Mansfield Conservation Commission.
Audit Committee Chair Jason Porter gave a breakdown of the current state of the Mansfield audits.
Selectmen voted 4-0 to approve a request from the Mansfield Boy Scouts from Troop 17 for the use of land on the Mansfield Cemetery near the town hall to sell Christmas trees to raise funds for the troop.
