Mansfield Citizens Upset Over Town Official's 'Bigoted' Tweet

Olivier Kozlowski took issue with a "now hiring" sign at a local Lowe's that included a Spanish translation.

A group of citizens on Wednesday criticized Selectman Olivier Kozlowski for a "bigoted" tweet he posted about Spanish-speaking workers.

Kozlowski earlier this month posted a photo of a "Now hiring" sign at a local Lowe's that included the Spanish translation below, "Se aceptan aplicaciones."

Kozlowski tweeted at Lowe's, saying, "What level of customer service can I expect from applicants who need the lower half of this sign?"

The comment upset some in town.

"Mansfield has no place for hate or racism," resident Sally Fehervari said at Wednesday's Selectmen meeting, according to the Sun Chronicle.

Kozlowski defended himself.

"People have stopped me in public and told me they agree with me," Kozlowski said, according to the Chronicle.
