Mansfield North Common Flagpole to be Renovated

Mansfield selectmen said they are looking at how to refurbish or, if necessary, replace the flagpole on the North Common.

Mansfield will be seeing some renovations in the coming year by refurbishing or replacing the North Common flagpole.

Mansfield town manager William Ross said that the town will be looking into the engineering costs and whether  the entire pole must be replaced or if a new paint job would suffice.

Selectman Jess Aptowitz said that it’s a problematic eyesore in the town, because anyone going through town from Easton’s Route 106 side, it’s the first thing of the municipality they see.

“They see that rusty thing looking there, it’s disgusting,” Aptowitz said. “I’d like to get it painted or get a new one.”
