Mansfield's Train Station Winthrop St. Parking Lot Losing 11 Spaces

Mansfield's Winthrop Street Lot losing 11 spaces due to handicapped requirements and spacing issues.

Mansfield’s Winthrop Street Parking Lot at the train station will be undergoing some changes this summer. Mansfield Town Manager William Ross said that with the installation of the new payment kiosks, the town has done an evaluation of the lots and found some issues.

“We’ve been going to through the parking lot and looking at stalls and so forth,” Ross said. “We will probably lose approximately 11 spaces in that lot.”

The lot is required by state regulations and zoning code to have four handicapped parking spaces and right now only has two. There are also many spaces that are too small by state standards and must be lost.
