Mansfield Selectmen Roundup: Downtown, Finance Committee and Cable

The following is a summary of issues discussed at the Oct. 24, 2012, Mansfield Board of Selectmen meeting.

Selectman Doug Aninno put forth his suggestions for improving the downtown area of Mansfield, which included beautification projects, ideas on the one-way section of North Main Street and the creation of a Downtown Business Association.

Selectmen Chair Olivier Kozlowski said that the next joint budget sub committee meeting with the School Committee is on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.

Town manager William Ross said that he, the Mansfield Department of Public Works and the Electric Department will be meeting to prepare for potential damage and power issues due to incoming tropical storm Sandy.

Finance committee chair Walter Wilk came in and ask committee members to table article 15 and 16 in regard to using bonds to pay for capital projects Mansfield High School Gym repairs and roads.

Chair of the Mansfield Cable Advisory Commission Lou Amoroso apprised selectmen of the formal process of get a line out to the high school for a studio there.
