Mansfield Voters Choose Gomez Over Markey
Gabriel Gomez carried Mansfield with 60% of the vote.
Unlike the majority of Massachusetts voters, Mansfield residents preferred Republican candidate Gabriel Gomez over Democratic candidate Congressman Ed Markey in the special primary for the U.S. Senate.
Unofficially, Gomez beat Markey 60%-40%. Third party candidate Richard Heos received 9 votes. No Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate has carried Mansfield since John Kerry in 2008.
