New North Common Flagpole Moving Along in Mansfield

Mansfield selectman officially approve the warrant article for Wednesday's Special Town Meeting.

The Mansfield Board of Selectmen approved, among nearly 20 others, the warrant article to replace the North Common flagpole.

Town manager William Ross said that after the replacement the entire North Common will be looked at for improvements.

“We’ll also have a schematic drawing for the north common,” he said.

He added that the pole itself would probably be the same height as the old one at 80 feet.

“We’re leaning towards the same height,” said selectman Doug Annino.

There may also be some electrical issues but [director of the Mansfield Department of Public Works Lee Azinheira] knows about it,” said selectman Jess Aptowitz.

The article appropriates $30,000 from the budget for the project.
