Selectmen Approve BYOB Policy For Mansfield

Mansfield patrons will now be able to bring their own beer and wine to restaurants in town.

The Town of Mansfield will now allow patrons to bring their own alcohol (beer and wine) to restaurants after the Board of Selectmen approved the policy nine months after is was approved by Town Meeting.

"Us voting on BYOB regulations, isn’t necessarily saying we agree with BYOB," but because "we have a job to do," said Board of Selectmen Chairman Jess Aptowitz, adding that he was personally against it but that the Board was charged with drafting the policy.

Selectman Olivier Kozlowski is in favor of the policy and even brought up a motion to extend the policy to outdoor locations for restaurants that have them, but that was shot down.

What do you think about the new BYOB policy? Are you more likely to bring your own alcohol to Mansfield restaurants now? Let us know in the comments below!
