Mansfield Selectmen Roundup: Town Meeting, Lights and Electric Department

The following is a summary of issues discussed at the Oct. 17 board of selectmen's meeting.

The Mansfield Light Commission discussed current financial issues concerning the Mansfield Electric Department. Growth in revenue is currently 1.5 percent per year.

Town manager William Ross said that all the lights that were turned off for energy saving purposes have been put back on.

Selectmen discussed the articles in the Fall Town Meeting.

Selectmen said that the dedication for the North Common gazebo has been moved to Oct. 20 at 1 p.m.

Ross said he will be talking to the Comcast Center management about this year’s entertainment license approval.

Selectmen were asked to be the judges in this year’s Halloween Parade.

Ross said that solar power generators used by two companies in Mansfield do not cost the town any revenue in terms of electric transfer.
