theatre director Alden Harrison and 14 Feehan students from the performed at Walt Disney World this summer. Their upbeat performances on Disney's Downtown Water Stage included dance numbers to Grease, Hairspray, Jersey Boys and42nd Street.
As a dance teacher for the past 41 years, I realize how important it is for young performers to experience different venues other than the normal excitement they get from their private dancing school and high school. When the opportunity arose to perform in Disney World, I jumped at the chance. We have performed there before, but this year there was a little twist. Along with the several students at my studio from Feehan, we also invited several cast members from our last musical Grease. The combination of performers was magical. My chest swelled with pride as I watched the show. They were fabulous and very professional.
