Mansfield, Foxborough and North Attleboro Squirts Beat Mount Saint Charles

The tri-town team brought home a victory in a four-game tournament against the Mount

The North B Squirt team won four games in a row at Mount Saint Charles to win the Halloween tournament.  Last Sunday North started the tournament of with a 12 to 3 victory over the Woonsocket Squirts 3.

 Luke Moulin and Ben Ierardo both recorded their first hat tricks, and Harry Kojoian netted two goals as North’s offense was too much for Woonsocket. 

In game two Monday, North piled up a 16 to 2 shot count in the first period against Woonsocket Squirt 2.  Shayne Kerrigan, Moulin and Ierardo all scored for North in a 3 to 2 thriller.  Wingers Peter Todd, Brendan Bellemore, Aidan Diggin skated hard all day and created many scoring chances.

On Wednesday, Game three was against Northern Rhode Island (NRI) and it was a hard fought defensive battle.  Defensemen pairing of Kevin Tully and Owen Borah focused on making great passes up the boards to the forwards.  North was able to pull off a 4 to 1 victory behind goaltender Nick DIGiacomo.  The third win put North in the Championship round against power house Franklin. 

On Sunday 10/23/11 2:00 the puck was dropped and North skated with a purpose.  Head coach Harry Kojoian, assisted by Bruce Bellemore, Paul Diggin, and Dan DiGiacomo had a game plan and the players executed it perfectly.  North won the game 6 to 3 by taking care of their defensive zone first and then forcing turn over’s in the neutral zone.

Defensemen Noah Franciscus used his speed with partner Michael Grace to make sure North didn’t get stuck in their own zone.  The offense was supplied by Shayne Kerrigan (2 goals), Brendan Bellemore, Luke Moulin, and Jack LeClair.  At the conclusion of the game there was a medal ceremony for the players.
