Mansfield High Theatre Advances to State Festival Semis
Mansfield advances in the drama festival preliminaries Saturday in Sharon.
The Mansfield High School Theater Company on Saturday advanced to the 81st Annual Massachusetts High School Drama Festival 2012 semi-finals with its performance of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged (Act II)" during the preliminary round, according to the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild's website.
Sharon and Winthrop also advanced from the group of seven schools that performed in Sharon on Saturday. The Sharon High auditorium was among 14 host sites statewide for Saturday's 2012 prelims, which include 114 schools. Winthrop performed "Charlie Foster."
Also, Norwood performed "The Suicide." Ludlow performed "Adonais." Randolph performed "4 AM." And Middleboro performed "Knights of the Square Table."

The state finals are March 22 to March 24. The New England Festival is April 26 to April 28, according to the theater guild's website.
