As a two-year starter for Mansfield at offensive guard and linebacker, Leonard was a key figure in the Hornets 19-3 regular season record ... a member of the Sun-Chronicle All-Area team and team captain ... ranked 13th in a class of 361 ... a member of both the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society.

National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Jack Grinold Eastern Mass ChapterScholar Athlete Award Dinner 
One of the premier sports events each year in the Boston area is the chapter's annual scholar-athlete dinner. From a large pool of over 225 schools, 33 exceptional young men are honored for their outstanding academic achievement. One is selected to address the banquet as a representative of the group to share his thoughts on how football has enriched his life.  In most cases more than 50% of the players will attend Ivy League colleges. Awards are also given for the Distinguished American and the Contributor to Amateur Football.
