Mansfield Schools Gather Calendar Information

School committee will hear results at April meeting.

The Mansfield School Department is gathering information on whether to make a change in the school year for FY2011-12.

Area schools are looking at eliminating a vacation week in order to get out of school earlier or on time, depending on how many snow days are used in a year.

Superintendent of Schools Brenda Hodges told the school committee Tuesday night she has sent out questionaries to parents and teachers to get their input. The deadline for returning the information is Friday.

Hodges said 2,805 emails were sent out to the parents. If you have more than one student in the school system, you received just one request.

"We have had a pretty good response," said Hodges. "We should have good data on what people think."
