MHS Super Bowl Champs Honored

Awards and Senior Farewell Ceremony held to celebrate season.

Last week,  head football coach Mike Redding brought together his 2010 Super Bowl Champions one last time and for good reason. Players, coaches, family and friends spent a few special hours reliving the highlights of their season and celebrating both individual and team accomplishments.

Varsity players were awarded their Championship Super Bowl rings emblazoned with the team motto: "Never Surrender," that came alive and led them to victory at for their last game. In addition to championship jackets which had previously been distributed, team plaques and award booklets were presented to each varsity player as mementos of a season well-played.

Seniors received T-shirts donated by Hudl. Jackets were obtained through . Rings were designed by Balfour.  Allegra put together the awards booklet and Nally & Associates produced the team plaques.  The Mansfield Gridiron Club enabled each varsity player to receive this wonderful package of items via a very generous donation.

Redding shared future college plans for each of the Hornets’ graduating seniors and highlighted honors bestowed on several players. Jamel Marshall and Kyle McGuire will be participating in the annual Shriners Football Game to be played on June 18 at . Anthony Todesco and Maguire will receive the National Football Foundation’s Scholar Athlete Award on May 9. The Massachusetts State Football Coaches Association will award a Courageous Player Award at their celebration on April 30.

The Mansfield Gridiron Club Scholarships were awarded to John Caughey and Ted Ferreira in honor of long time Mansfield football supporter, Steve Conroy, who passed away last year.

The evening ended with the audience of players and supporters viewing and cheering on the highlight film, celebrating key plays during this winning football season.
