Robinson School Evacuated as a Precaution

Engineers called in to examine roof.

Students from the Robinson Elementary School are being bused to three separate locations following the detection of a roof leak in the school earlier today. An e-mail from School Superintendent Brenda Hodges to parents at the school states:

"Due to a roof leak at the the fire department has requested that Robinson students be moved to the following locations to allow for a thorough inspection for building safety:

Kindergarten students to the Jordan/Jackson School
Grade 1 students to the Qualters Middle School
Grade 2 students to Mansfield High School

The fire department does not see any apparent problems, but is taking this action as a precaution for student safety.

Once the inspection is complete and the building is determined to be safe, students will be returned to Robinson."

The superintendents office said in a phone interview that there is no danger to the students and builing engineers are being called in to complete the inspection. There is no definite time frame for the completion of the project, and the students will remain at the safe locations until further notice.
