Should Mansfield Get Rid of February Vacation?
The Mansfield School Committee voted to have school on Good Friday and Discussed eliminating February Vacation in 2015.
The Mansfield School Committee is considering making changes to the calendar for the 2014-2015 school year, including eliminating February Vacation, according to the Sun Chronicle.
The committee voted to recommend April 3, 2015, Good Friday, as a full day of school, but to give kids the day off on January 2, citing traditionally low attendance rates on that date. They discussed eliminating February Vacation, Feb. 16-20, 2015, though they did not come to a decision on that.
Chairwoman Kiera O'Neil said the board should hear from the town before finalizing anything.
