The Mansfield Education Foundation (MEF) Teacher Recognition Program Proves Very Successful

Comcast Center Provided Annual Gift of $500 in Matching Funds

The Mansfield Education Foundation (MEF) Teacher Recognition Program raised more than $1000 since the announcement of an annual partnership with local entertainment venue, Comcast Center this past January.

Ending in June, the Comcast Center donated matching funds up to $500 in total for all Teacher Recognition donations made to MEF.  This money is used to help provide even more financial assistance to Mansfield teachers.

MEF’s “Teacher Recognition Program” offers parents and the community a unique way to honor and thank our educators for his or her service and dedication.  By participating through this program, parents have the opportunity to offer a ‘gift’ that will not comprise the policy on ethics and gift giving in our schools.

“We have heard how excited the teachers are when they receive the beautiful certificate with their name on it, thanking them for their hard work and dedication throughout the school year,” said Marybeth Cragan, MEF President.  “This year we even had parents thank their children’s teachers from previous years!  There are so many teachers and staff in the Mansfield Schools that go ‘above-and-beyond’ for their students and they should be recognized.  This program offers parents a way to acknowledge these valued educators through a contribution that will assist them in continuing the amazing work and programming that takes place in the classroom.”

"Comcast Center is proud to partner with MEF to help Mansfield Schools with this annual donation,” said Bruce Montgomery, General Manager of the Comcast Center in Mansfield. “Comcast believes in being a community partner when it comes to helping local students and teachers. In our 26 years, we have always enjoyed working with the schools whether as a concert venue for Mansfield student musicians or for graduations. We hope our investment helps make a difference and perhaps encourages other businesses to do the same."

“We were so very pleased at the response from both teachers and parents for this program.  And we are so appreciative of the support from the Comcast Center and Mr. Montgomery.  As our very first annual matching funds sponsor, this contribution has given us a wonderful push toward continued success.” added Cragan.
