2011 Tennis Lessons Challenge and Tournament Winners

The Summer Youth Tennis lesson program concluded Tuesday, August 23 at the courts.  Our annual Totally Tennis and Mini-Challenge Tournaments began at 9 a.m. and ended at noon with a pizza and soda party at the courts.

Players, ages 5 through 8, came together to participate in the Totally Tennis event playing tennis games using their newly learned skill.  At the conclusion, each chose a prize and were awarded a tennis shoe, flip flop or Crock keychain.

The Mini-Challenge and Tennis tournament Challenge were for players 9 through 14.  The Min-challenge included several one match events playing their lesson mates and again, all received a prize and a keychain. 

The Tennis Tournament/Challenge was conducted with students that have accelerated in the sport.  At the end of the tournament trophies were awarded to the 1st Place winner Sethu Odayappan, 2nd Place Winner Kathleen Giffels, 3rd Place Jackson Murphy and 4th Place Madison Benoit. 

The summer program concluded with families and friends of the players joining in the fun of the pizza and soda party.  It was a great summer and we would like to thank all the youth and adults that took lessons and survived the summer heat waves to complete their 8 lessons.  And, our instructors: Will, Siobhan, Myrna, Chris, Emma, Emily, Jamie, Durga and Jon.  Thank you for a job well done.
