A Win for Mansfield Softball Against Feehan

Hornet softball team downs Shamrocks, 4-0.

The Mansfield Hornets made a decisive 4-0 win on Wednesday against Bishop Feehan. The Hornets started scoring in the bottom of the first, with Tricia Hansen hitting a double to bring in Briana Chuisano.

Hansen's pitching kept Feehan frustrated on the plate. Hansen struck out Feehan's frist five batters in the beginning of the game.

"She was ready to go today," Head Coach Jinneane Sperrazza said of Hansen. "Thirteen strikeouts and no walks [on the mound,] and she had three hits and two RBIs [on the plate,] and you can't really ask anything else of her."

Erin  Glavin hit in another run in the bottom of the third, bringing in Hornets catcher Kelly English. Briana Chuisano came in to score on a past ball to bring up the score to 4-0.

At the top of the sixth, Hansen kept Feehan in check again by striking out all three of Feehan's hitters. Feehan was threatening at the top of the seventh two runners in scoring position, but English threw out a runner on third that Cooney managed to tag to end the game.
