Canton, Mansfield in Hockey Showdown
The Hornets will be facing Canton in a match-up of the two top teams in the Hockomock League Saturday in Canton at 6 p.m.
The Mansfield High hockey team, the Hockomock League Large-School champion, will face Canton, the Small School champion, Saturday at the Canton Rink in a 6 p.m. game. The Bulldogs are the defending Division 2 state champions and will be back again the title this year, something Mansfield hopes to take away from them.
Canton has been on fire going into the game, scoring 18 goals in two games, including 11 in an 11-0 whitewashing of Foxboro. Mansfield, though, will counter with one of the top goaltenders in the league, Rich Shipman.
