Five From Mansfield Cross Boston Marathon Finish Line Before Explosion

Of the 22 entrants from Mansfield, only five were able to finish the Boston Marathon.

Before yesterday's tragic end to the Boston Marathon, five Mansfield runners were able to cross the finish line and complete the 26.2 mile race.

Gregory Lowe was the first from Mansfield to cross the line with a time of 3:17:55 to place 5,342. Next was Donald Burke who made it to Boston in 3:24:14, good enough to place 6,902.

Daneil Atkinson had the third best Mansfield time of the day at 3:29:09 to place 8214 and Marsha Whitman finished at 13,015 with a time of 3:46.42.

Khamfeua Haleudeth was the final Mansfield runner to finish the race with a time of 4:19:12. Making it into Back Bay a little before 2:40 p.m., Haleudeth was able to complete the marathon about 10 minutes before both explosions went off.

Of the 22 runners from Mansfield, 12 were able to make it to the 40K marker about 1.3 miles away from the finish line before they were diverted away from the end of the course and towards Boston Common.
