Hopkins Delivers Big Defensive Play in Victory

Timber Rattlers are chasing a wild card spot.

Mansfield's Greg Hopkins made a key defensive play in the fifth inning of Thursday's 2-0 win by the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers over the Peoria Chiefs in Peoria, Ill.

At third base, Hopkins was able to make a stop of a hard grounder for the Milwaukee Brewers' Single A farm team and fired the ball to first to get the out.

On the year, the former Bishop Feehan and St. John's University is batting .250 going into tonight's game at Cedar Rapids. Hopkins also has a homer with 20 RBI and 26 runs scored. He also had nine stolen bases.

Wisconsin is a half-game before Quad Cities in the race for the wild card spot for the first half.
