If Mansfield High Football Makes Super Bowl, It Won't be at Gillette Stadium

The Eastern Massachusetts Division 2 Super Bowl won't be played at Gillette Stadium. Mansfield will be playing Duxbury in the playoffs Nov. 27 at a site to be determined.

 

If Mansfield High makes it to the high school Super Bowl, they won't be playing at Gillette Stadium.

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association announced the Super Bowl schedule for Dec. 1 Tuesday.

Mansfield, the winner of the Hockomock League's Kelly-Rex Division, will be playing Duxbury in Division 2 playoffs. The winner will face the winner of Tewksbury or Reading for the title. That game will be at a site to be determined.

Mansfield has played two Super Bowl games at Gillette, losing to Walpole and beating Reading. They also played Lincoln-Sudbury at the old Foxboro Stadium.

Other Super Bowl games have been held at Curry College, Winthrop High, Boston University's Nickerson Field and at Mansfield's Memorial Park.

Instead, the Division 2 Western Massachusetts Super Bowl will be at Gillette Stadium this year.

Game No. 3              Eastern Mass Div. IA                  1:30 p.m.

Game No. 4              Eastern Mass Div. IIA                 3:30 p.m.

Game No. 5              Western Mass Div. II                  6:00 p.m.

Game No. 6              Eastern Mass Div. IIIA                8:00 p.m.
