Mansfield Baseball Squad Wins Cal Ripken Tourney

It's the furthest the team has advanced in the tournament.

The U11 Mansfield American baseball squad captured the District 4 Cal Ripken Tournament Championship this month.

The team was 4-1 for the week, beating Wrentham, Dedham, and Stoughton, then ending with a double-header against Dedham in the championship round. Mansfield lost 16-4 in the first game but battled back to win 5-3, beating the back-to-back state champions in Dedham.

Mansfield now moves on to the state tournament, which will be held in a few weeks. It's the furthest a Mansfield team has ever advanced in the Cal Ripken tournament.  Featured in photo:
