Mansfield Football Carwash This Saturday

Donations go to help the Hornets go to play in the South.

It’s not even close to fall, but the Mansfield Hornets are already getting ready for the 2013 season.

The Mansfield Gridiron Club, dedicated to supporting the Mansfield football team, is hosting a carwash at the Chauncy Street Mobil on Saturday, May 18.

The carwash is a fundraiser, and while free, allows the players to collect pledges to help reduce the cost of their trip to Maryland/DC/Baltimore for a game with the Dunbar High School to open the season on Sept. 6. The more cars they wash the more money they can earn.

Dave Redding, who runs the Gridiron Club, said in the past two years the kids have washed about 90 cars.
