Mansfield High Boys Basketball Team Beats BC High

The Mansfield High boys' basketball team defeated Boston College High Sunday to improve to 4-0 on the season.

The Mansfield High boys' basketball team made 10 3-pointers in a 69-57 win at Boston College High School Sunday to improve to 4-0 on the year. The victory knocked BC High from the unbeaten ranks.

Mansfield worked quick and precise passes around the arc to pick apart what had previously been a dominant BC High basketball team.

“We just try to spread the floor (and) balance with two guys on each side and (a) guy in the middle, so they have to respect the middle guy,” Mansfield coach Mike Vaughan said. “We do certain offensive set drills to put the guys in position, (but) it is a matter of them making the right decision. It is having guys who have done this the last couple years.”

Burying 10 3-pointers against a zone defense, the visiting Hornets (4-0) bested the formerly undefeated Eagles, 69-57, yesterday.

“We just try to spread the floor (and) balance with two guys on each side and (a) guy in the middle, so they have to respect the middle guy,” Mansfield coach Mike Vaughan said in the Boston Herald. “We do certain offensive set drills to put the guys in position, (but) it is a matter of them making the right decision. It is having guys who have done this the last couple years.”

Mansfield's Ryan Boulter, a sophomore forward, has six 3-pointers on his way to an 18-point effort, while senior forward at 15.

Herald story had wrong scoring totals. The local newspaper sent a reporter to the game. I'd trust that report first.
