Mansfield High Boys' Track Team Captures All-State Title

Shayne Collins, Josh Lampron and 4 x 400 relay team win titles.

Make room in the trophy case for another trophy for the Mansfield High boys' track team.

The Hornets added the 2011 All-State outdoor title, running away from the field with 49 points, easily outdistancing second place Acton-Boxboro with second with 29 and Andover was third at 23.

Shayne Collins won the two-mile in 9:07.42, while Josh Lampron took the 800 meters in 1:54.03. Ryan Petrella, Nick King, Griffin Robertson and Steve Gannon captured the 4 x 400 relay in 3:02.02. In the 400 meter, King was third in 49:23, while Robertson was fifth at 49:49. Petrella took a fifth in the 400 meter hurdles in 55:83.

In the triple jump, Jeremy Burke was sixth at 44 feet, 5.70 inches, while Jeff Hill was 11th at 43 feet, 1 inch. Anthony Todesco grabbed an 11th in discus at 136 feet, 10 inches. The 4 x 800 relay of Nick Some, Collins, Khan Haleudeth, Collins and Lampron were seventh at 8:06.13.
