Mansfield's Greg Hopkins went 2 for 2 with a pair of singles in the Midwest League All-Star Game Tuesday night in Geneva, Ill. His West all-star team dropped an 18-2 decision to the East stars.
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers second baseman was voted on to the team by the Western Division managers. Hopkins is leading the Milwaukee Brewers' farm team in homers with seven and a .333 batting average to start the week. The former Bishop Feehan and St. John's University standout is second in RBI with 35.
After finishing the first half of the season with 44-25 record, the Timber Rattlers have already clinched a playoff spot in the Midwest League. It's the first time they have made the playoffs since the 2005 season.
