Mansfield's Lofton Moves Into Starting Role at Bridgewater State

Mansfield's Michael Lofton, a sophomore forward, and Jimmy McGrath, a senior forward, are on the Bridgewater State University men's basketball team.
Lofton has moved into a starting role for the Bears. The 6-5, 215-pounder averaged seven points a game as a freshman.

In the first game of the season, Lofton had 18 points and 14 rebounds as the Bears defeated Plymouth State, 70-64, in the 2012 BSU Tip-Off Classic on Friday evening at the Tinsley Center. Lofton also had six blocked shots.
In the championship game of the tournament, Lofton had six points in the 88-75 loss to Springfield College.

McGrath had three-points in the season opening win, but didn't appear in the championship game. He is a 6-4 transfer student from Massasoit Community College.
