The Mansfield High girls' softball team delivered with another strong showing on Friday, beating Foxborough, 6-1. Strong pitching and fielding highlighted this game. Pitcher Trish Hansen kept Foxborough down until the top of the seventh inning with many other innings ending early with caught foul balls.
Foxborough could not get their fielding or hitting together during the game, with pitcher Brenna Connolly pitching strikes, but the fielders were missing too many vital plays. This allowed many runners to score and many more to get on base.
Foxborough rallied in the seventh, getting three runners on base and one to home, but were shut down when a line drive to second was caught, ending the game.
