It's that time of year again in Mansfield!

The Mansfield Park and Recreation Department is presenting their Nineteenth Annual Great Duck Race on Wednesday evening, June 27 at Fultons Pond. Starting time is 7:30 p.m.  This event will kick off their "Movies with the Stars", "Arts in the Park" and "Concerts on the Common" summer series.

The first summer movie, “Puss and Boots”, will be shown following the race at the South Common at 8:45 p.m.  The rain date for the race and movie is Thursday, June 28.

The Great Duck Race is an event for everyone, young and old.  Come join the fun and cheer on your duck to the finish line.  Prizes will be awarded at Fultons Pond to the top (approximately) 100 ducks to cross the finish line. The first place winner will receive a large plastic duck and a gift certificate.

Ducks are now up for adoption at the Recreation Office during regular Town Hall hours.  Or, you may adopt the evening of the race at Fulton's Pond beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Each duck is a $1 donation (being offered in bags of 5) and all proceeds from the race will go towards this summer's entertainment series and youth programs.

DON’T FORGET:  If you cannot be present for the race, please leave the ducks with us and they will race as planned.  If your duck number is called, you may come in later to choose a prize.  The winning duck numbers will be posted, on the www.mansfieldma.com/parks/index.html - Park & Recreation website – Event Calendar, the day after the race.
