Local Bands Perform to Honor a Friend

First Annual Larsan Korvili Benefit Concert Raises over $2400.

Friends and family from the greater Attleboro area came together this Saint Patrick’s Day to celebrate the life of Larsan Korvili. Over 200 people gathered at Bishop Feehan High School to enjoy the talents of local performers and share in a tribute to a beautiful young man.

Larsan died tragically last August while attending a Bishop Feehan religious retreat on Cape Cod. As the anniversary of his death approaches, fellow Feehan students, Chris Klein and Dan Bilodeau recognized an opportunity to use their musical talents to bring the community together to keep Larsan’s memory alive. Chris and Dan worked with Bishop Feehan administrators, Principal Bill Runey, Vice Principal of Student Affairs Al Svendsen, and teacher and coach Bob L’Homme, to organize the First Annual Larsan Korvili Memorial Concert featuring singers and bands from Mansfield, Attleboro, and North Attleboro.

Friends and family, including Larsan’s two younger sisters, rocked to the sounds of:

The boys used social media tools, primarily Facebook, to spread the word about the event. Posters were placed throughout the community. Donations for printing, sound and refreshments were generously provided by Feehan parents and local businesses. Many Bishop Feehan staff members donated their time to oversee the activities.

Principal Runey commented about the evening: “Larsan was a fun –loving, joyous person. The concert was a fitting tribute to him as the Auditorium was filled with smiles.”

Over $2400 was raised during the event. Inquiries regarding the Larsan Korvili Scholarship Fund, can be directed to the Korvili Scholarship c/o Bishop Feehan High School.
