I will not be returning to this dentist office because I had a terrible experience last week when I took my 2.5 year old son for his second cleaning. During his first cleaning (he was 1.5yrs old) I was allowed to sit on the chair with him. He was very calm and only cried at the end of the cleaning and I held his hands, so the dentist could finish cleaning. At the second cleaning it was "suggested" that I wait in the waiting room. A very nice girl named Danielle explained that he may act more calmly if I am not there. She assured me that he would not be traumatized and that my son would be okay. I went against my instincts and left him with her, he immediately starting crying and continued to cry for fifteen long minutes of which I was sick to my stomach. The receptionist (who is cold as a cucumber) came out and assured me that he was fine and not to worry. When he continued to cry I expected someone to come out and get me, but I thought they knew best and stayed in my seat. When he was done he walked out and ran into my arms sobbing. Danielle then took me into a room and talked to me about what they found and how he did. When I tried talking to my son about his teeth, she snapped and said "Mom, pay attention". After speaking with many other moms about their pediatric dentists, all of them said that they go into the exam room with their kids and have never been told to stay in the waiting room. I'm very disappointed with this office and I will not be returning.
