Located within the public library building, the Council on Aging provides Mansfield seniors, ages 60 and up, with a variety of daily activities and services. A staff of eight, led by Director Gale Farrugia, runs programs designed to promote the health and well-being of Mansfield seniors. Inside, a community room is shared with the public library and provides a variety of safety, health and wellness, exercise and recreation events for active seniors, including gardening, chimes, music and painting. The office coordinates outreach services such as transportation for local travel and medical visits. Home delivered meals are available five days a week and services are available for fuel assistance, help with Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and SHINE (Serving Insurance Needs of Elders).
