May 9 12:59 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a smoke condition at the Kyoto Restaurant. Mansfield Firefighters secured the area and found the issue to be a smoldering item of food. The building was vented afterwards. The Robinson School in Mansfield has been evacuated because of a white substance found in a letter.
At approximately 10:57 a.m. on Thursday, Mansfield Public Safety Dispatch responded to a call reporting that a staff member at the Robinson Elementary School had opened a letter from the mail containing a white powdery substance. At this time, Mansfield Fire Chief Neal Boldrighini said the employee was transported to Norwood Hospital as a precautionary measure. “At this time, everything is looking great in the capacity,” he said. The school was immediately evacuated, and students were transported to surrounding schools after the evacuation. The Mansfied Fire Department and Emergency Medica Services responded to a total of 43 calls last week. May 1 8:38 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting an explosion and fire on Angell Street. The explosion was not confirmed, but Mansfield firefighters found a contained fire in a pit. Firefighters found that the homeowner had been burning construction materials in the pit. May 2 11:32 a.m. Foxborough Fire reported a motor vehicle collision on Route 95 North of exit 7.
