May 8 10:58 a.m. Reporting party came into the station and stated that four of his solar lights were taken from his yard on Concetta Drive. May 9 3:06 p.m. Derek Washburn, 21, of 20 Copeland Dr. was arrested on a warrant by Mansfield Police. He was wanted for alleged kidnapping of his 19-year-old girlfriend. May 10 10:57 a.m. Mansfield Police assisted in the evacuation of the Robinson Elementary School after a staff member had reported finding a white powder substance in an envelope. Mansfield Fire and EMS Log: May 7 - 13

The following is from the Mansfield Fire and EMS Log.

The Mansfield Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services Team responded to 51 calls last week.   May 9 12:59 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a smoke condition at the Kyoto Restaurant. Mansfield Firefighters secured the area and found the issue to be a smoldering item of food. The building was vented afterwards. May 10 10:55 a.m. Robinson School officials called reporting receiving an envelope containing an “unknown white powder substance.” Mansfield Fire and EMS personnel assisted the Massachusetts Hazardous Materials Response unit in containing, isolating and removing the substance. WANTED: Attempted Easton Bank Robbery

A 2009 attempted bank robbery suspect is still on the loose.

UPDATE: Mansfield's Robinson School Evacuated After Substance Found in Letter

The Robinson School in Mansfield has been evacuated because of a white substance found in a letter.

At approximately 10:57 a.m. on Thursday, Mansfield Public Safety Dispatch responded to a call reporting that a staff member at the Robinson Elementary School had opened a letter from the mail containing a white powdery substance. At this time, Mansfield Fire Chief Neal Boldrighini said the employee was transported to Norwood Hospital as a precautionary measure. “At this time, everything is looking great in the capacity,” he said. The school was immediately evacuated, and students were transported to surrounding schools after the evacuation. Only the office employee was reported to have been exposed to the substance, and she immediately washed her hands afterwards. Mansfield Police and Fire corded off the area and the Massachusetts …

Mansfield Police Log: Drug Arrests, Shoplifting and Ducklings

The following is from the Mansfield Police Log from May 3 to May 7.

May 3 12:22 p.m. Reporting party came into the station and stated that there has been a fraudulent check/lottery scam that was mailed to her. 1:41 p.m. Reporting party came into the station and stated that a dog had bitten her in the past. Animal Control Officer Jeffrey Collins said that there was a ten-day quarantine on the animal already after the initial incident. 2:00 p.m. Caller reported a fight at Memorial Park. Police reported a large group dispersal on arrival, no witnesses or involved parties found. 8:30 p.m. Reporting party came into the station and stated that four youths in a gold color Camery were “smoking a blunt” in a parking lot on Erick Road. One person was arrested for possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute.   …

Mansfield Fire and EMS Log: Collisions, Spills and Car Fire

The following is fromt he Mansfield Fire and EMS log.

The Mansfied Fire Department and Emergency Medica Services responded to a total of 43 calls last week. May 1 8:38 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting an explosion and fire on Angell Street. The explosion was not confirmed, but Mansfield firefighters found a contained fire in a pit. Firefighters found that the homeowner had been burning construction materials in the pit. May 2 11:32 a.m. Foxborough Fire reported a motor vehicle collision on Route 95 North of exit 7. May 3  10:36 a.m. Foxborough Fire reported a motor vehicle collision on Route 495 North south of exit 13. Firefighters found that one of the vehicles was leaking diesel fluid.
