Students and teachers focus not only on standard learning, but also on the development of students as members of the community and the world. Students participate in an annual Junior Jeopardy contest to aid the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. They also support the Jump Rope for Heart program sponsored by the American Heart Association and collect money for relief efforts, such as Hurricane Katrina.

Focusing on programs to stimulate emotional, physical and academic development, studies and activities are geared for continued fun and learning well after the school day ends. This office also runs Adult Education programs and the popular Tweeter Center Summer Institute, where children attend week-long programs in crafting, physical exercise, academic and fine arts learning.
