Mansfield's Rhett Wiseman is expected to be taken in this week's major league draft, which starts today.
It's now a waiting game for Mansfield's Rhett Wiseman as the Major League Draft is starting today and will run until Wednesday. Wiseman, a senior at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols, is rated as a top outfielder prospect. The 5-11, 187-pounder is a left-handed hitter with speed on the bases and in the outfield. When he is drafted, Wiseman will have a decision to make on whether to sign with a professional team or attend Vanderbilt University. He is going to get use to college baseball by playing for the Brockton Rox in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League this summer. Baseball America projects him to be a fifth round selection.
