SOUND OFF: President Obama and the Democratic Convention

What did you think of Obama's speech and the convention? Will you vote for him in November?

President Barack Obama capped off the Democratic National Convention with a speech that highlighted his foreign policy wins, health care reform and immigration reform on Thursday. Over three nights, Democratic leaders took aim at Republican nominee, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, and his running mate Congressman Paul Ryan. A number of Massachusetts Democrats spoke at the convention, including Gov. Deval Patrick, Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren and Senator John Kerry.  After last week's Republican National Conventon, we asked readers to tell us what they thought of the convention and Romney.  Now, we want to hear from you about the Democratic convention. Mansfield Dem. Town Committee's Joe Kaplan Representing at the DNC

2nd Vice Chair of the Mansfield Democratic Town Committee Joseph Kaplan make shis fourth DNC appearance.

Mansfield’s Joseph Kaplan will be arriving at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday in Charlotte North Carolina. He said this will be the fourth convention that he’s been to, and says that he’s there all day for more than just the speakers. “The convention in Charlotte won’t start until 4 p.m.,” he said. “There are many other activities.” Kaplan said he will be participating in many different sessions and caucuses throughout the day to get more cohesion between the party and the state of Massachusetts(and subsequently Mansfield). Through these types of proceedings, Kaplan said he’s worked with George McGovern and Michael Dukakis. “You don’t see that on TV,” he said. “I try to go with the grass roots mentality.
