Submitted to Patch: The 2012 George King Hockomock League Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27. The event will be hosted at Borderland State Park in Easton. There will be a series of four races. Over 700 student athletes are expected to compete and over 1000 spectators are expected to attend. The starting gun for the first race, the girls’ varsity championship, goes off at 9:30 a.m. The varsity boys’ championship is the second race of the day, followed by the junior varsity and freshman races. The meet includes the 12 teams of the Hockomock League. It will feature some of the top programs and individuals in the state. Mansfield High School is the defending boys’ champion.
