New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft talked about the possibility of hosting a Super Bowl in Foxborough if Super Bowl XLVIII in New York/New Jersey goes well.
Could a Super Bowl ever be held at Gillette Stadium? New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft says he would welcome the opportunity if Super Bowl XLVIII next February in New Jersey goes well. “Let’s see how [the Super Bowl in New York goes],” Kraft told reporters Tuesday outside the NFL owners meetings in Boston. “We would love one day to hold [the Super Bowl locally] if it’s a good experience.” Kraft was in Boston Tuesday with the NFL’s 31 other owners to vote on the sites of Super Bowl L and LI and discussed what would need to happen for the area to host its first ever Super Bowl. “I think part of what it would require is political people in Boston and Providence coming together so we could really have the right number of hotel rooms and …

The following is a summary of police activity and incidents reported from the Jan. 13 and Jan. 20 New England Patriots NFL playoff games at Gillette Stadium, as reported in Foxborough's police logs.
While the New England Patriots most recent playoff run ended in disappointment it did bring the two largest and most well behaved crowds of the 2012-13 season to Foxborough, according to Police Chief Edward O’Leary. “Crowd behavior [during the Patriots playoff games] was exceptional,” O’Leary said. “Things went very well.” In the January 13 AFC Divisional Round game at Gillette Stadium, police reported 44 protective custodies and seven arrests out of a crowd of 68,756. The following week, police reported 33 protective custodies and seven arrests out of a crowd of 68,756 at the Jan. 20 AFC Championship Game at Gillette Stadium. The New England Patriots know it will take their best effort Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens to win the AFC Championship and advance to the franchise's eighth Super Bowl.
On Sunday, the two best teams in the AFC will go head-to-head in Foxborough with a trip to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans on the line … and that’s the way it should be. “It’s a game day battle out there,” New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said of Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens. “They’ve got a good team, we’ve got a good team, and those games have come down to the wire.” For the second straight season, the AFC title game will feature the Patriots and Ravens at Gillette Stadium. Like many of the meetings between these two teams over the past decade, last January’s conference championship game came down to just a few plays in a 23-20 Patriots victory. “We know it will be a big challenge for us this …

Fourteen heroes from the Newtown, Conn. Police Department, including each of the first responders to Sandy Hook Elementary School, were guests of the Kraft family for last Sunday's playoff game at Gillette Stadium.
It’s been just over a month since the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. shocked the nation but the memory of the 26 dead, including 20 children, lives on in Foxborough. The New England Patriots still wear the black-ribbon decals they donned prior to their Dec. 16th game against the San Francisco 49ers for Newtown, Conn. This past Sunday, the Kraft family invited 14 New England heroes from the Newtown, Conn. Police Department to attend the Patriots’ AFC Divisional Round game vs. the Houston Texans. The 14 Newtown, Conn. police officers and first responders responded to one of the worst tragedies in American history as it was unfolding on Dec. 14, 2012. The 14 heroes were introduced on the field prior to last …

The New England Patriots will play in the AFC Championship Game for the seventh time under head coach Bill Belichick Sunday when the team takes on the Baltimore Ravens at Gillette Stadium.
On Sunday, the New England Patriots will play in their seventh AFC Championship Game under head coach Bill Belichick and fourth in Foxborough. For Belichick, the NFL’s third most winningest head coach in the postseason, a trip to a conference championship game never gets old. “Of course we’re excited to be heading into the AFC Championship game against the Ravens,” Belichick said Monday. “It’s a great honor, really, to participate in the game; to be playing for the right to represent the AFC the following week.” Standing in the way of the Patriots returning to the Super Bowl for a second straight season and eighth time in franchise history is a familiar opponent in Baltimore. The Ravens defeated the Patriots, 31-30 in Week 3 of the regular…
