Foxborough Man Surprises Son with Patriots Tickets He Won Giving Blood

Foxborough resident Paul Currie was one of five blood donors to win Patriots playoff tickets after participating in Dunkin' Donuts sixth annual "Give a Pint, Get a Pound" campaign last week at Patriot Place.

Foxborough resident Paul Currie realized the importance of giving blood several years ago when his daughter had a major surgery. “I realized giving blood is something we all need to do,” Currie said. "[It is] easy and the benefits for others are priceless.” Currie, 52, was off from work last week when he heard about an American Red Cross blood drive happening at Patriot Place. “I decided I would do my part,” Currie said of participating in last Thursday’s Dunkin’ Donuts sixth annual “Give a Pint, Give a Pound” campaign. As part of the event at Patriot Place, five lucky donors would win two tickets apiece to Sunday’s AFC Divisional Round playoff game between the New England Patriots and Houston Texans at Gillette Stadium. Police Report 62 Custodies at Sunday’s Patriots-49ers Game at Gillette Stadium

The following is a summary of police activity and incidents reported from Sunday’s NFL regular season game between the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers at Gillette Stadium, as reported in Foxborough's police logs.

Sunday night’s New England Patriots football game at Gillette Stadium drew a crowd of 65,043; slightly less than the 65,435 at Gillette Stadium six days earlier to see the Pats take on the Houston Texans. Foxborough Police Chief Edward O’Leary said there were 54 people taken into protective custody Sunday night and eight people arrested. In addition to the 62 custodies reported, a caller at 6:31 p.m. told Foxborough Police a North Street resident was violating the town’s parking bylaw. Officer Foscaldo responded to the property in question and reported there were five cars …

The Patriots (10-3) dominated the Houston Texans with a 42-14 victory at Gillette Stadium Monday night to take control of the second seed in the AFC and pull within one game of the conference leading Texans (11-2). Tom Brady came up big once again on a big stage - throwing for 296 yards and four touchdowns and the Patriots defense kept Houston's playmakers in check for most of the night in a statement victory for New England.
