The following crime statistics are from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The FBI's annual Uniform Crime Report includes information submitted by local law enforcement agencies. The information is compiled and released to the public in the fall of the year that follows the reported year. In 2011, Mansfield had 47 violent crimes, two cases of murder of non-negligent manslaughter, nine counts of forcible rape, three robberies, 33 cases of aggrivated assualt, 395 cases of property crime, 149 cases of burglary, 224 counts of larceny, 22 counts of vehicle theft and one arson. Jan. 27 8:58 a.m. Police found graffiti on the fence on the west side of Medline on West Street. 3:11 p.m. Caller reported a coyote prowling in the vacant lot adjacent to Mansfield crossing. 6:06 p.m. Caller reported a hit and run on Route 140. The caller said that they spoke with the offending vehicle’s operator and suggested they move their vehicles into the parking lot at Stop & Shop to exchange paperwork. When the caller got to the lot, the other vehicle had taken off. 8:45 p.m. Caller reported that a grab and run had just occurred at the Best Buy on School Street. Jan. 28 9:53 a.m. Caller reported a shoplifting incident at the AT&T store on School Street. The theft was discovered when the manager reviewed the security camera tapes …

Jan. 20 11:32 a.m. Jonas Pierre, 19, of 2 Charlene Dr. in Plainville was arrested on a warrant from a previous incident that occurred in Mansfield. He was originally charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon. Jan. 21 11:50 p.m. Eric Hayes, 44, of 125 Oak St. was arrested for operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Jan. 22 2:23 a.m. Richard Sergio, 47, of 89 East St. was arrested for domestic assault and battery and witness intimidation.

Jan. 2 12:58 p.m. Caller reported an iPod Touch was stolen during a house party on Bird Rd. Jan. 3 12:54 p.m. Amtrack Police called and requested Mansfield Police assistance for a male subject refusing to get off the tracks in front of a freight train. The subject was removed from the tracks. 7:41 p.m. Robert Mulligan, 49, of 6 Tower Ln. in Buzzard’s Bay was arrested at Cork’s for disorderly conduct. A caller reported that Mulligan and another male party were fighting in the parking lot. Police found that the fight was the result of a road rage incident. Oct. 3 3:17 p.m. The assistant principal at the Mansfield High School reported finding a purse with marijuana “material” inside. Police concluded that the purse was abandoned on the property. Oct. 4 3:11 a.m. Caller reported that her vehicle was stolen. She later called back to report that it was returned 9:52 a.m. Caller reported that his residence on High Street was broken into. Entry was gained through the basement and a large amount of jewelry was stolen. 2:05 p.m. Caller reported a hit and run on Route 140 North on the Mansfield-Foxborough line. 5:42 p.m. Caller reported that his house had been broken into on Maple Street.
