Mansfield Fire Log: Car Crash on Route 95 and Brush Fires

The following is from the Mansfield Fire Department.

May 6 11:55 a.m. Caller reported a small mulch fire on North Main Street. Mansfield Fire extinguished the fire. May 7 11:50 a.m. Mansfield Fire responded to a call reporting a small brush fire at the Route 95 North rest station. May 8 9:29 a.m. Mansfield Fire responded to a call reporting an outside fire on Elm Street. Fire was found to be a legal burn by a neighbor. May 9 12:05 a.m. Caller reported a motor vehicle collision on Route 95 South. Two patients were extracted from the vehicle. Both victims were transported to Rhode Island Hospital. May 11 1:44 p.m. Caller reported a motor vehicle collision on Route 495 North. One vehicle reported over the guardrail. No serious injuries were reported.

Mansfield Fire and EMS Log: Rollover, Pole Strike and Collisions

The following is from the Mansfield Fire Department log from Dec. 30, 2012 to Jan. 6, 2013.

Dec. 30 9:46 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a single-vehicle collision against a utility pole on Fruit Street. One patient was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. 3:12 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a tree down on a wire on Lawndale Road. No injuries were reported and Mansfield Electric shut down power at the location and mitigated the issue. Jan. 1 2:46 a.m. Caller reported a rollover on Route 95 North. One patient was ambulatory and transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Jan. 3 2:24 p.m. Caller reported a motor vehicle collision on Route 140 South. One patient was transported to Norwood Hospital. Mansfield Fire Log and EMS Log: Pedestrian Hit, Five Car Collision and Snow Plow Strike

The following is from the Mansfield Fire and EMS log from Dec. 24 to Dec. 31, 2012.

Dec. 27 8:56 a.m. Mansfield EMS responded to a call reporting a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The patient was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Dec. 28 7:57 a.m. Mansfield EMS responded to a call reporting a fall victim with a head larceration. 12:58 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a fire alarm on Chauncy Street. Burnt food on the stove was found to be the cause. Dec. 29 5:30 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a five-vehicle collision on Elm Street. Patients were treated on scene for minor injuries. Dec. 30 2:30 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting that a snow plow had struck a gas line in the Foxborough Stop and Shop.

Snow Plow Strikes Foxborough Stop and Shop, Mansfield and Foxborough Engines Respond

Foxborough and Mansfield Engines respond.

A plow struck the Stop and Shop on Main Street in Foxborough according to the Mansfield Fire Department, at about 3 a.m. on Sunday. The crash resulted in a gas leak, according Mansfield Fire, and the Foxborough Fire company and the local gas company secured the leak with no resulting complications. Mansfield Firefighters ventilated the supermarket and the surrounding area. According to the Mansfield Fire Department, there was no other resulting damage and the leak was contained and mediated.

Mansfield Fire and EMS Log: Garage Fire, TT Crash and Collisions

The following is from the Mansfield Fire and EMS log from Dec. 17 to Dec. 23, 2012.

Nov. 17 4:05 p.m. A caller on Jacob Drive reported a fire and heavy smoke coming from the garage. Embers from the fireplace had gotten into the heating system. Power to the house was cut and a small extension was extinguished. 7:33 p.m. Callers reported a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of North Main Street and Chauncy Street. Two patients were taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Dec. 18 10:22 a.m.  State police reported a tractor trailer had crashed a large amount of fuel had spilled on Route 495 North. 2:10 p.m.  Caller reported a vehicle in the woods at the onramp of Route 140 North from Route 495 South. Mansfield Teen Helps Limit Garage Fire

Small garage fire on Jacob Street kept small by Mansfield teenager.

Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a garage fire at 35 Jacob St. around 4:30 p.m. on Monday. They came to find the fire had been isolated by the son of the family living at the residence. Mansfield fire chief Neal Boldrighini said that the fire started in the central heating, ventilation and air conditioning system. "Lucky for us and lucky for them, the home owner's son was able to knock it down in the canister with a chemical fire extinguisher," he said. Boldrighini added that the damage was minimal. He said the apparent cause was embers getting into the system and catching trough a wind trap. "There was a small extension [from the source of the fire] in some areas, but for the most part were able to resolve the issue …

Mansfield Fire and EMS Log: Miller Fire, Rollover and a Crash

The following is from the Fire and EMS log from Dec. 10 to Dec. 15, 2012.

Dec.  11 10:44 p.m.  Mansfield, Sharon, North Attleboro and Foxborough fire responded to a two alarm fire at the Miller Recycling Building in the Cabot Business Park on Plymouth Street. The fire was pronounced knocked down an hour and a half after the call and there were no reported injuries. Dec. 12 11:21 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a motor vehicle collision on Route 95 South near exit 5. 2:11 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a microwave fire on Necco Road. There were no extensions and the fire remained contained in the microwave. UPDATE: Truck Rolls Over, Dumps Syrup on 495 South

Rollover in Mansfield blocks two lanes of traffic on 495 South.

State Police have reported that a tractor trailer rolled over on Rotue 495 South at the Route 95 Exit in Mansfield. State Police have also reported the crash has blocked the two right lanes and a fuel spill has occured. Update: 3:11 p.m. State Police are reporting that the fuel spill as a result of the tractor trailer rollover has forced the closure of exit 13 on Route 495 South, which is the onramp to Route 95 North in Mansfield. The crash was called in at 2:42 p.m. As of 3:11 p.m. there are no known injuries and the cause of the crash has yet to be determined. The truck was reportedly hauling some sort of syrup and it has also spilled all over the road, but is not considered a hazard at this time. Companies are still cleaning up the fuel…

Mansfield Fire Chief: Train Crash Victim Alive Because of New Vehicle

Crash victim is only alive because of airbags in his 2013 Toyota Venza.

Mansfield Fire Chief Neal Boldrighini stated that the driver's survival during the crash on Wednesday with a freight train was due to the new safety equipment installed on his 2013 Toyota Venza. "His car was absolutely totalled," he said. "He was driving a very new vehicle and it was equiped with every airbag offered... He was lucky in that respect and he ws lucky in all because he hit that train at a pretty good clip. "He sustained non-lifethreatening injuries." The driver collided with the train on Monday at around noon. He was medflighted to the Rhode Island Hospital trauma unit with serious injuries. Mansfield Fire and EMS Log: Grill Fire, Gas Leak and Collision

The following is from the Mansfield Fire and EMS log from Nov. 18 to Nov. 25, 2012.

Nov. 19 4:56 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a grill fire on Concetta Drive. Firefighters found it to be a mechanical error with the girll. The fire was extinguished. Nov. 20 3:44 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a motor vehicle collision with injury at the Stop and Shop parking lot. One patient was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Nov. 21 12:58 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a kitchen fire on School Street. Nov. 23 2:18 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a gas leak on Hampden Road. The gas leak was confirmed and the area evacuated.
