Oct. 22 5:37 p.m. North Attleboro Fire reported a vehicle off the roadway on Route 95 North. Oct. 24 10:00 a.m. Mansfield Fire responded to a call reporting a microwave fire on Squire Avenue. Oct. 25 8:12 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a vehicle fire on Hampshire Street near a building. The fire in the vehicle was knocked down and did not extend to the building. 7:03 p.m. Caller reported an oven fire on Potash Road. Heavy smoke permeated the building and the oven was removed. Oct. 16 1:37 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a motor vehicle collision at the underpass on Chauncy Street. One victim was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Oct. 17 4:31 p.m. Mansfield Fire responded to a mulch fire near the Bank of America on North Main Street. The fire was extinguished. Oct. 18 1:54 p.m. Mansfield EMS responded to a mutual aid call in Plainville at the Race Course when two horses collided and injured the jockeys. Both were transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Oct. 19 12:48 p.m. Mansfield Fire responded to a call reporting fire at 150 Rumford Ave. Firefighters located the problem at a kitchen appliance, which was sparking heavily and caused a fire. Oct. 8 7:55 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a mutual aid call from North Attleboro Fire due to a rollover on Route 95 near exit 5. Oct. 10 7:55 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a motor vehicle collision on Route 95 South. One victim was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. 2:15 p.m. Mansfield Fire and Rescue responded to an MCI drill in Norton. Oct. 13 6:03 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to an alarm at Longhorn Steakhouse. The source of the fire was found to be a linen bag smoldering in the dining room. Health department officials inspected the restaurant after the building was cleared. Oct. 14 7:54 p.m. Mansfield Fire responded to a call reporting an overheating vehicle and possible car fire.

Oct. 2 5:01 p.m. State police and Foxborough Fire reported a motor vehicle collision on Route 95 in which a vehicle drove off into the woods. Victim was found out of the vehicle (though not ejected) and was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. 10:04 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a motor vehicle collision between a vehicle and a utility pole at the intersection of Joanna Drive and Maple Street. Patients were treated on scene for minor injuries. Oct. 3 8:58 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a tractor-trailer rollover on the Route 495 onramp to Route 95. Chris Pyrcz was sworn in on Wednesday as an official Mansfield Firefighter.
Chris Pyrcz was officially sworn in as a Mansfield firefighter on Wednesday in front family and many brothers in the Mansfield Fire Department. Mansfield fire chief Neal Boldrighini said that, especially in light of the Oct. 3 crash and extrication on Route 95, that quality firefighters are needed in Mansfield. “I’m not exaggerating when I say we used every tool we had to get the job done,” he said. “Outstanding work gentlemen.” Boldrighini said that Pyrcz was a graduate of Walpole High School and served with distinction in the U.S. Marine Corps. “He served in several deployments overseas,” he said. The Mansfield Town Clerk swore in new firefighter Chris Pyrcz. The Mansfield Board of Selectmen approved a measure that would allow purchase of Norton property (after the approval of the Town of Norton) to expand wastewater facilities. Selectmen approved a motion 5-0 to allow new owner of Mansfield Gas and Service Wissam “Sam” Samrout a Class II Vehicle Sales License. The license allows sales of vehicles on the property. Town manager William Ross said that, despite a few problems with change and placement of the machines, the new pay boxes at the train station are being used and are generally a success. Aug. 6 8:10 a.m. Massachusetts State Police reported a tractor-trailer rollover on Route 95 North on the on ramp to Route 495 South. The driver was evaluated on-scene and the vehicle was turned upright and towed away. There was a significant oil spill cleaned up at the scene. 2:54 p.m. Caller reported a grill fire within ten feet of the house on Mill Street. The fire was extinguished within 15 minutes of the initial call.
