Submitted by Tom Herrick. Mansfield participated in a quad match at Newton South high school. Mansfield defeated Brookline, 42- 21, and Newton South, 48-29. They lost to Lincoln Sudbury, 67-0. George Bezreh (120), Jake McCaffrey (160) and Sam Caskey (220) each had 2 wins and 1 pin on the day. Max Trowbridge (170) and Mike Chace (152) each had two wins by pin. Other wrestlers recording a pin were captain Joe Herrick (138), Victor Borborema (132) and Connor Burns(145). Mansfield takes their 2-1 record to Stoughton Wednesday night for their first Hockomock league match.

The tournament was held on Dec. 27-28 at Marshfield High School. Mansfield placed 11th in team scoring in a highly competitive 32 team field. A good result considering the team was only able to enter wrestlers in 10 of the 14 weight classes. Dan Gilmore was the champion of the 152 pound weight class. He had a 4-0 record with 3 pins including a first period pin in the finals. Gilmore is a perfect 13-0 on the season. Derrion Walker (160) placed fourth with a 4-2 record and four pins. Aurian Dawkins (120) also placed fourth with a 6-2 record including four pins and a technical fall. Tyler Budway (170) placed seventh with a record of 5-2 including three pins.
