Cavallo and Signoriello Insurance Expanding After 50 Years in Mansfield

Co owner Ben Cavallo Jr. talks expansion and the history of his father's business.

Cavallo and Signoriello Insurance has been in Mansfield for over 50 years, and with their new building getting into construction, they may stay for another 50 years. Ben Cavallo Jr., the son of founder Benjamin Cavallo, said they really just needed the space. “Last year, we purchased Colonial Insurance, effectively doubling the size of our Mansfield office and we’ve really outgrown the original office,” he said. Cavallo said the original office, built by Benjamin Cavallo Sr. and Frank Signoriello, was 1,200 square feet. He said they had purchased another building to increase space, but that it just wasn’t working out. “Working out of two spots is crazy,” he said. “It’s hard to manage people from two locations.” He said the new building …

C&S Insurance Merges with Mansfield's Colonial Insurance

Merged entity will still represent Colonial in Mansfield, the largest and oldest agency in region.

C&S Insurance Agency, Inc. today announced that it will acquire Colonial Insurance of Mansfield, the town’s oldest insurance agency. The merged entity, which will operate under the umbrella of C&S Insurance, will represent the largest and oldest insurance agency in the Mansfield area.  C&S Insurance (also sometimes known as Cavallo & Signoriello Insurance Agency), has served Mansfield and vicinity since 1959, and is a second-generation, family-owned agency with three locations and 20 employees. With Colonial Insurance coming into the fold, the agency will increase to 25 employees and increase their client base from 7,000 to 13,000. Colonial Insurance traces its origins to 1882, when it was founded by A.B. Day, the first banker in Mansfield…
