Mansfield's King Aviation a Family Affair

The story of King Aviation an unlikely set of circumstances.

Kelley Dineen never intended to work in the flight industry, you could say she just kind of fell into it. Dineen, president of King Aviation, said she originally went to Johnson and Wales University in Providence for hotel and restaurant management, but in the recession of 1991, there wasn’t much work in those fields. She said her father, already an accomplished pilot and was running the flight school, asked her to join the business. “When I graduated, no one was hiring,” she said. “I took the summer and waitressed down the Cape, but come September, I had to have a job and he said go help your brother.” The flight school has a small number of its own airplanes for instruction. Mansfield Town Meeting Schedule

A listing of the town government meetings for this week.

1. The Mansfield Board of Selectmen/Light Commissioners will be meeting on Monday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall room 3 A/B. 2. The Airport Commission will be meeting on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Mansfield Municpal Airpot, Building H.

5 Things You Can't do in Mansfield Today

It's Back!

The popular feature from last week is back for round two.   1. Left Turning Lane. You can't, no matter how hard you might try, figure out whether or not the left-hand lane on West St./Main St. intersection going towards MHS is a turning lane or not. The horrible truth is that sometimes it is, and sometimes it isn't. 2. Fly. You can’t just go to the Mansfield Municipal Airport and fly a plane. It takes years of training and hundreds of chaperoned flight hours to get the right license. 3.
