Mansfield Obituary: Alfred Sarro

The following is the obituary for Alfred Sarro Sr. of Mansfield.

Alfred Sarro Sr. of Mansfield and Conway N.H. died Thursday, Jan, 3, 2013 at Epoch of Sharon. He was 96 years old and the beloved husband of the late Louise (Narciso) Sarro. Born in Altavilla, Italy on Aug. 28, 1916, he was the loving son of the late Anthony and Agnes (Romangnoli) Sarro. Mr. Sarro was a graduate of Boston Trade School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a warrant officer and served in the European Theater. He was co-owner of Old Colony Motors of Mansfield for 45 years. He was a member of the Foxboro, North Conway and Walden Lake Country Clubs, the Lodge of Elks, Knights of Columbus, VFW and the Mansfield Lions Club. Walter H. Stowe, age 76, of Plainville, formerly of Norton and Mansfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Harrington House in Walpole. Born in Boston, MA on August 9, 1936, he was a son of the late Roland and Dorothy (Pettee) Stowe. He grew up in Boston and was educated in Boston public schools. Walter honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. National Guard. Mr. Stowe was a retired intake coordinator having worked for many years helping others at the North Cottage in Norton. He had previously been employed as a self-employed carpenter and cabinet maker. A resident of Plainville for the past 10 years, he had formerly lived for many years in Norton and Mansfield. Emadel F. (Daniel) Ramsay age 91, a resident of the Village at Willow Crossing in Mansfield, formerly of Brockton, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert I. Ramsay who died in 1986. Born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania on April 27, 1921, she was a loving daughter of the late Rev. David Earl and Leila (Orange) Daniel. Emadel grew up and was educated in Pennsylvania. In her senior year of high school her family moved to Holyoke, MA. She was a graduate of Holyoke High School and also attended Worcester College.  Fred R. Lemire Sr. of Mansfield died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. He was 96 years old and the beloved husband of Jeannine B. (Beland) Lemire for 62 years. Born in Attleboro on June 16, 1916, he was the loving son of the late Wilfred and Nora (Marcoullier) Lemire. Mr. Lemire served in the United States Army during World War II, and was the first Plainville resident to be drafted for the war. He worked as a stone setter for Balfour Co. in Attleboro, Jostens Co., Lambert Engraving and Plainville Stock, from which he retired. He enjoyed and was an accomplished wood carver as well. Raymond F. Bedard, 86, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy J. (Goyea) Bedard, who died on March 7, 2009. Mr. and Mrs. Bedard were wed on February 28, 1948. Born in Fall River, MA on March 7, 1926, he was a dear son of the late Adelard and Catherine (Fitzgerald) Bedard. Ray spent his early childhood living in Boston. At age 10, his family moved to Foxboro where he continued growing up and was a graduate of Foxboro High School. Rudolph "Rudy" Fasulo, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at the Golden Living Center, Garden Place in Attleboro. He was 80. Mr. Fasulo was the husband of the late Natalie (Brady) Fasulo. Born in Mansfield on June 22, 1932, Mr. Fasulo was the son of the late Antonio and Antonetta (Cataloni) Fasulo. He was a graduate of Mansfield High School and was inducted into the Mansfield Football Hall of Fame. He worked as a lineman for the Mansfield Electric Company and later worked as a school bus driver for Connolly Bus Company in the Mansfield School District.
